The stained glass windows made with caramel are integrated into the architecture of Les Ateliers du Vent. The use of the caramel as a building material which is highly suseptible to atmospheric surrounding changes, refers to the decomposition process governed by the immutable laws of nature. A slow and quiet flow of the caramel reminds the inner destructive force, ubiquitous into nature, into human being and into all human endeavours. This in progress installation is a pictorial, architecural and cooking experience at the same time. The colometric range varies from yellow, orange, purple to brown. These colors variations depend of the cooking time and atmospheric conditions of the surrounding space. Mixed materials : metal profiles, wire mesh, bolts, water, sugar. |
