Uraban Dawns is a nomadic, participative and manifold project .
It aims to explore urban spaces at dawn in order to observe the sun-light phenomenon which changes the image of the city during the switchover period from night to day.
The project invites to stop over these most enigmatic instants in the urban rhythm while the sunlight is slowly imposing into the city everyday life, causing a confusion between darkness and light, between dream and reality.
Nomadic Project :
Urban Dawns is travelling across different european cities. It consists of twelve stages . Each stage corresponds to a single city in exploration.
The blog : urbandawns.blogspot.fr shows its evolution, step by step.
The project deployment involves various mediums as:
video, participative performance, blog, installation,
Participative project :
The representation of the cityscape is continually being shaped and transformed through the encounters and interactions with the others. So, the invitation the city-dwellers to take part of the project aims to find out the urbanscape in a subtle and unexpected way.
The breakfast before the sunrise organised with city-dwellers invites to observe collectively the urban-scape transformations at dawn. The video and explorers' notebook works are the outcome of these aesthetic, collective experiences.
All the materials made and collected while the dawn experiences, are presented as a nomadic and in progress installation which follows the project, step by step.
The end of the project is planned when twelve European cities will be explored.
